But does it have a cap hit if nobody claims him from waivers? Yep, no different from if it happens in regular season.

If a player has a 2 year contract. Can you only stretch him for 3 years? Some suggestions above you can do 2 or 1 like a payout? player contracts can be payed-out/stretched over 1-4 years regardless of contract length.

Does the payout fall under our current stretch rules? IMO its a new thing that i haven't seen before in our league or in the rules, i think. Cause I would have used it in prior years (darn it). Don't think anyone has paid out a multi year contract in one year in this league. so far they have been waived over multiple years?
Our definition is "If a NON-MINIMUM waived players is not claimed off waivers their total remaining salary can be stretched over a period of up to 4 years." Which in NBA terms means to spread the contract out over a longer period.
Happy to have it in.
But I suggest we may need to consider updating it in our rules either in the current stretch section with updated heading or a new payout/buyout section.

I’ve used the stretching provision over 1 year last season.
It’s not a new thing

Paid out a multi year contract total example 4M over 3 years as 12M one off payout?

Yeah has been done a few time.
Will be updating the wording of the stretch rule to make it a little more obvious and to allow multi-year minimum contracts to be "stretched" (ie payed out) over 1 year.

A player can be stretched for anywhere between 1 - 4 years regardless of contract length from what commish wrote up above

Just to say that I am going ahead and stretching this contract on privately received advice that I do not need to put the player on waivers first. If this information is incorrect then of course I will withdraw the stretch request <iframe width="24.200000000000045" height="3.5600000000000023" style="position: absolute; width: 24.200000000000045px; height: 3.5600000000000023px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_61514225" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="24.200000000000045" height="3.5600000000000023" style="position: absolute; width: 24.2px; height: 3.56px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1149px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_62175690" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="24.200000000000045" height="3.5600000000000023" style="position: absolute; width: 24.2px; height: 3.56px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 118px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_94445110" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="24.200000000000045" height="3.5600000000000023" style="position: absolute; width: 24.2px; height: 3.56px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1149px; top: 118px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_462501" scrolling="no"></iframe> Already answered days ago
