I must admit that I don't actually know which owners are new. And if you're a new owner who is using a strange name as your profile name instead of your team name, then you just made my life more complicated and so, no thank you.
However, I must say that while I really enjoy this league, the rules aren't exactly simple. And I first want to commend our commissioner, who does an unbelievable amount of work to make this league go, and don't want my following comments to be perceived as an attack on him.
But, should we pause or rewind the free agency period until everyone actually knows how this process works? If you look at the written rules, I don't think it says anywhere what constitutes a winning bid. It just says that the largest value contract will be deemed the winner, there's no mention of 24 hours with no bids making a bid the winner. So in the last 24 hours we had a new owner go "I didn't even get to bid on Blake Griffin", which seems, not ideal. The rules also say players will be auctioned in order based on the current yahoo rank, but i'm pretty sure that's not something we actually do.
Anyway, just my two cents, feel free to ignore me. But maybe don't ignore me on the profile names = team names thing.

I get what you are saying but the whole I never even got to bid on Blake thing is completely bull poop. Basketball bid on CJ McCollom on September 10th the same day that the Blake Griffin winning bid was posted that he said he never had a chance to bid on. He just either didn't scroll down to look at the bid or at the time deemed it too high to bid on.

Also, myself and “The Process (T)” are the new owners. “Basketball” is the owner for Hostile Takeover, so not new to the rules.

And the rules aren’t that hard to follow, but if you have any questions, the commish is more than helpful clarifying anything.

To be fair, tuesquad is 100% correct the documented rules around the the free agent actions are quite out of date, they were what was written prior to the first season, however they were not really followed as we fumbled our way through it last season.
This year we are more or less following what we did last year, managers can nominate any FA to bid on, the auction for a player ends once there has been no bid for 24h.
At some point in the near future I will go through and update the rules to reflect what we are actually doing, in the mean time if there is anything that people are sure about just ask.
