The issue seems larger than just banning signing players to multi year contracts during the playoffs.
Firstly there is the issue of the manager who dropped Jordan in the first place. He did so because Jordan had no more games to play and his contract was up. At that point the manager should not be allowed to drop the player as he has received a full season's value. There is no penalty to the team dropping him as there would with any other player. Such players should not be eligible to be dropped.
Secondly, in my opinion, there should be no long term contracts offered once the preseason bidding period is over. It opens the league to the possibility of cheating. Secret deals made between teams when one of the teams has the highest waiver pick and can nab a player dropped in return for some other benefit. It flies in the face of the open and above board process used in the bidding period and could allow a team to acquire a top player for bargain basement prices. I could see this scenario happening at the end of seasons when a contract is due to run out and the playoffs are not attainable.
I can't imagine who has voted no but if we don't get rid of this loophole it is only a matter of time until the league has a stack of blue chip players on rosters for peanut prices and that is not good for competition.

Secret deals made between teams when one of the teams has the highest waiver pick and can nab a player dropped in return for some other benefit.. Yeah, this is not possible. waiver priority is only used when claiming a player off waivers. in which case the claiming team would inherit the players current contract and would not be able to use a multi-year FA contract. Once the player clears waivers, waiver priority has no bearing and it's the first manager to claim the player will get the player. Giving that the team dropping the player will have no control over which team picks up a player, i would have thought that the possibility of another team getting a valuable player on the cheep would result in less players being dropped at the end of the season.

As the dropper of DeAndre, can I just state that this was a very difficult decision to drop him because I was worried about another team getting a deal, but I saw the opportunity to win a championship and decided the risk of helping another team was worth it because flags fly forever. I'd also like to say that I'm not sure DeAndre didn't have any games left, he may have had one game left and the guy I was picking up had two. I simply remember that I was gaining a game by making the move. I'm honestly offended at the idea that I'd be colluding with another team. I mean, to what end would I even be doing so?
A corollary to the vote in question in this post, and if we're being honest, I think the issue which is really at hand is, should you be able to sign a FA contract AFTER the playoffs are complete?

Tunes I understand why you did what you did so I don't see any problem with your end.
What I would say is that after the trade deadline no multiyear contracts should be able to be signed but that is just my opinion. I like the idea of picking up a player off waivers mid season and not just having to keep him for that year.

Why have 3 people voted no? How can anyone be happy with the Jordan situation?
Have you ever heard of an actual NBA team signing a player to a multi year contract in the playoffs?
It should be fantasy basketball not fantasy computer with some weirdo checking fantasy leagues after the season is over to snare players dropped.
How does it help a league to have blue chip players picked up for bargain basement prices?

Can we have a vote specifically on the Jordan pick up. As one week after the Grand Final last year no one logged in except Flint as we all stopped playing.
