There are some massive offers by managers without that much cap space.
Even with stretch and waivers there's a good chance lots of big offers will be unable to be honoured.
Trades aren't that easy to coordinate and stretch and waivers can only do so much?
Is this a mess waiting to happen?

Also prices of contracts are getting inflated for others by managers making bids that the likely can't afford.

There are a few guys with considerable cap space in particular the owners of Curry and Westbrook - so we need to make it a little harder for them to resign these guys - and not let them have them for a penny - I am sure they will match any reasonable bid - who would not?

That's fine if managers can genuinely free up cap, other wise it's just a dummy bid. What happens if the bluff is called and the bidding manager can't free up cap? Don't need to match a bid that can't eventuate. In the NBA your bid is held against your cap until matching to keep you responsible to avoid this.

There is a problem though with no teams having cap space. The owners of Curry and Westbrook could grab them for pennies. The issues being the only price factor here is competition from other owners. The way I see it. Owners with a high priced free agent this year have a HUGE advantage, they going to be grabbing bargains because nobody has cap space.
