When you make a bid on a player and add a team option does the value of the contract cover that option or is the team option on top of the salary stated?
Eg. I offer John Doe 30mill/3 years + T/O (is that 30 million over a total of 4 years, meaning the contract per year is 7.5 million per year split evenly) or is it (10 million per year and the final year is another 10 million if the option is taken up)

No, bids do not cover the option.. so 30/3 with TO would be 10 per year + the option year.
